The first thing is to see if your vehicle has factory mounted rails. They run from the front to the back of the car on each side. This is where the cross bars are attached. If not, you can use cross bars that fit in the door opening. You can use any brand of cross bar that fits your vehicle.

Make sure that your cross bars are fully adjustable to accommodate the Packasport indented channel.  The sweet spot is 30 inches from the center of each cross bar.

Be sure to move the box far enough forward so that your hatch opens up properly. See our website for diagrams with the dimensions of each model.

Adapters are not necessary. Each Packasport comes with four U-bolts that simply install from beneath the cross bars and up into the cargo box. The U-bolts are secured with a knob from inside the box. It’s a very simple installation process.

Packasport carriers are made in durable, repairable fiberglass. You can do light repairs with a fiberglass repair kit such as this Bondo Fiberglass Repair Kit.

Part of the building process of a fiberglass unit is the gel coat. It produces a beautiful, glossy end product. This shine can be maintained with a yearly waxing, otherwise, the gel coat is subject to fading in the sun. We also offer a Raptor Tough finish that is more durable, scratch resistant and fade proof.

Loosing keys is always a bummer.  We don’t keep track of keys, so if you loose yours, then you will have to buy a new lock here.

If your box is locked, then the best solution is to either call a lock smith or drill out the lock yourself.

The best way to replace the trim strip it as follows:

Make sure all of the old trim strip is removed

Warm up the new trim strip with a hair drier to make it more pliable

Peel the adhesive protective strip slowly as you apply the trim strip

Begin at the nose.  Start at Left front corner, go all the way around the back and up to the Right corner.  

The trim strip does not go across the nose of the box.

Yes, you can still mount a Packasport on vehicles with a sunroof. You will just be looking at the bottom of a cargo box instead of the sun.

You can contact us through our contact page! We offer custom colors. You can have your box painted almost any color you choose. If you'd like to match the color of your vehicle, then we takes steps to ensure a perfect match.

We ask that you send the following info:

-Your VIN number.

-A photo of the VIN plate found on the inside of the driver’s side door.

-A photo of your vehicle so we can be sure that we have the right color.

The color name.  Better yet, a color sample if you have it.

-We’ll send you the updates when your box is built and sent to the painter. Then we’ll send you the ETA to your door. We will be happy to assist you.

We offer gel coat, automotive paint and Raptor Tough finishes. Raptor Tough finish is our standard finish for all Packasport cargo boxes. They also be color customized.

Yes, we ship to Canada and Mexico.

All cargo boxes are shipped via a truck partner. Please expect these shipments to arrive later than the other items from a separate order.  Delivery can be expected 4 to 7 business days from shipping date depending on your proximity to our warehouse location in Bend, OR. For residential deliveries, the carrier will contact you via phone a day or two prior to delivery to schedule a delivery appointment. Please make yourself available for the delivery appointment, as cargo cannot be delivered without a signature.  Please inspect your delivery carefully for damage prior to signing – Packasport is not responsible for any damage not noted at the time of delivery. Once we get it on a truck, we will send you a tracking number and ETA.

We use USPS for parts and accessories and LTL trucking for the large freight cargo boxes.

Allorders containing a cargo box are charged a flat rate of $299 if shipping to a residential address in the continental USA. Shipping charges are $425 on cargo boxes to Canada and Mexico. 

We are unable to ship to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

For shipping to Alaska or Hawaii:

We can ship most items to Alaska or Hawaii for additional freight costs.  We will get a quote from the shippers.

We do not ship on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
